Integrin alpha-8 (ITGA8) Antibody
Description
Anti-Integrin alpha-8 (ITGA8) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and can be used for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues. Integrins are transmembrane proteins that facilitate cell-extracellular matrix interactions or focal adhesions. Ligands for Integrins include fibronectin, vitronectin, collagen and laminin. An integrin molecule is composed of two protein subunits, alpha and beta. Each subunit consists in an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic domain. Integrin alpha-8 protein is encoded by the ITGA8 gene in human. Integrin alpha-8 protein regulates the recruitment of mesenchymal cells into epithelial structures, mediates cell-cell interactions, and regulates neurite outgrowth of sensory and motor neurons. Integrin alpha-8 protein is highly expressed in the kidney. Mutations in ITGA8 have been associated with renal hypodysplasia/aplasia-1 (RHDA1; OMIM 191830) and with several animal models of chronic kidney disease.
