Anti-E-cadherin (Cdh1 or CD324) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues. E-cadherin is a protein that is encoded by the Cdh1 gene in human. E-cadherin is also known as Cadherin-1 or CAM 120/80 or uvomorulin or CD324. E-cadherin belongs to the classic cadherin protein superfamily and may act as a tumor suppressor. The cadherin protein features an amino-terminal extracellular domain or ectodomain or EC domain that is followed by a transmembrane domain and a carboxyl-terminal intracellular domain. The cadherin ectodomain plays an adhesive role whereas the intracellular domain mediates cadherin-catenin interactions. E-cadherin is widely expressed in tissues of epithelial origin. Note that E-cadherin has high sequence similarity to N-cadherin (Cadherin-2). This antibody is developed using an E-cadherin specific sequence.

Pendrin is an anion exchanger that is encoded by the Slc26a4 gene in human. Pendrin mediates electroneutral exchange of chloride for bicarbonate across the plasma membrane of epithelial cells. Pendrin is a membrane protein with 12 transmembrane domains and molecular weight of 86 kDa. Mutations in Pendrin cause Pendred syndrome or DFNB4 (OMIM 274600), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by sensorineural deafness and thyroid goiter.
